It grows in rainy deciduous mixed forests. Wood when freshly cut or not exposed to light, the heartwood is yellow, but under the influence of light quickly becomes golden brown. Wood is characterized by excellent indicators of mechanical properties, comparable to teak, although it is inferior to it in terms of bending strength and compression along the fibers. It adheres satisfactorily, accepts and holds nails and screws well.
The Iroko floor is exotic, its yellowish color and delightful shades create a completely unique interior atmosphere. Over time, the color of the wood becomes deeper and acquires dark brown shades. Iroko is characterized by a light wavy pattern.
